Tan Hsuan Boon

Tan Hsuan Boon read Law at the Oxford University and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2003.

His practice covers a wide range of areas, with a specialization in civil and commercial litigation. His areas of practice include :

Corporate and commercial disputes - acted for individuals in relation to allegations involving breaches of directors' duties, and oppression of minority shareholders; represented a foreign company in a multi-million dollar claim against an international bank for breaches of contract.

Construction arbitration - represented companies and statutory boards, in relation to claims pertaining to construction disputes.

Criminal advocacy - defended individuals charged with committing offences under the Penal Code and the Securities and Futures Act; defended companies charged with committing offences under the Electricity Act and the Factories Act.

Employment law - advised and represented individuals and companies regarding employment-related issues and disputes.

Insolvency litigation - represented a court-appointed Judicial Manager of one of the largest construction companies in Singapore in 2004; represented a Manager of a court-sanctioned Scheme of Arrangement involving debts of more than $100 million.

Partnership disputes - represented individuals in negotiating and drafting terms for the dissolution of a partnership; represented a local company in litigation against its former partner, a foreign company, for breaching an agreement to dissolve the partnership.

Professional negligence claims - represented law firms in cases regarding alleged professional negligence.

Matrimonial practice - represented various individuals in negotiating the terms of settlement of divorce, and petitioning the Court for divorce; represented an individual worth approximately S$20 million in contentious divorce proceedings.
